You can train your chatbot on your own content and test it on your demo page, which gives real answers exactly as they'll appear on your website. You can share the demo link with colleagues too, and only add the chatbot to your site when you're happy with it.
Each AI reply is one message. Your customers' questions don't count, only the AI's replies. Be careful of providers that count the customer's message and the AI's reply as separate messages, which halves the value you get. All costs are included in your plan, with no extra charges per message or token.
