When using the HubSpot chat widget, it is possible to add a Welcome message and also email capture:
Welcome message – This can be used to not only greet your customer, but also provide important information, such as advising how to contact a human (if your chat widget starts with the AI active).
Email capture – If your customer gets disconnected during the conversation, the email capture function allows you to get back in contact with them to provide them with an answer to their question.
This article shows the exact steps required to enable HubSpot’s built-in Welcome Message and Email Capture functions, alongside using Resolve247’s AI functionality.
- From your HubSpot dashboard:
- in the left hand navigation menu, click “Automations”
- then click “Chatflows”.

- Next to the Chatflow that you want your AI to respond to, click “Edit”. (Note: here is also where you can create a test/demo chatflow to test your AI within the HubSpot widget, by clicking “More” then “Clone”.

- Now you will see the “Build” page where you can:
- Click “Welcome message” and you can enter your chosen message in the box.
- Click “Email capture” and you can choose options relating to how you wish to collect the users email.
- Then click “Save” in the bottom left.

Done!
Now you are able to display a welcome message, and collect customer emails through the HubSpot widget, in combination with using AI responses from Resolve247.
